I remember when I used to be a prolific blogger. Now I’m just addicted to social media. *sigh*
I’m on social media every day posting both short observations and longer screeds about whatever is on my mind at the moment. I used to do that daily on Diaryland.
I suppose the purpose of websites has changed altogether, so it’s not as important for me to “blog” daily for engagement. I’m not a newspaper, after all.
Still, I am supposed to be selling books. As my next projects slowly, but surely, come to fruition, I have been considering how I use my website and social media and what my next steps ought to be.
I still don’t know and I guess that’s okay for now.
So what have I been doing in the past six months?
I’ve been teaching. Several of my students earned GEDs this year and I feel like a proud papa to be honest.
I’ve been editing, too. I should be dropping at least one project before the end of the year.
Annnnnnd….. I WENT TO LONDON!!! Last year, I got pneumonia and was too sick to travel. To be honest, I was sick again this year, but not as bad as last year, and not close enough to my trip for it to matter.
London is so much fun. The food, the people, the culture, the shopping, every last bit was on point. The only thing I didn’t like about the trip was the flight. There’s just not enough room to really get comfortable. The guy sitting in front of me was a real douchebag who not only reclined his seat, but somehow stretched himself until it seemed like he would break the damn thing. He was practically sitting in my lap.
Aside from that, and a migraine I got on the way home, it was a lovely trip. Here are some highlights:
- Brunch at Three Little Birds in Brixton
- The Victoria and Albert Museum
- The British Museum
- Brixton. All of Brixton.
- 805 Restaurant in Peckham
- Harrods
- Afternoon tea at The Ritz
And most of all, it was just plain fun hanging out with my mother! We’ve never taken a vacation together before and we did not kill each other this time, nor did we even come close to it.
Enjoy the photos!
